Volunteer Nearby is a small community project that makes it easy to find volunteer opportunities near you — without scrolling through five different nonprofit websites.
What we list
Volunteer Nearby is a U.S.-wide directory built city by city. We started in the Portland, OR metro and currently hand-curate 53 listings across 9 cities. We focus on opportunities that are open to the public, recurring or flexible enough to make commitment realistic, and run by established organizations.
Where we're going
The site is built to expand nationally. New metros are added as we find curators we trust on the ground. If you'd like to suggest a city, use the Request your city page. If you'd like to help curate one, email hello@volunteernearby.org.
How listings get here
Every listing is reviewed by hand. We link to the host organization's own signup page rather than running our own — your relationship is with the org, not with us. We are not affiliated with the organizations listed; we just point at them.
Are these listings always current?
We try, but volunteer programs change. Always confirm details with the host organization before you show up. If you spot a listing that's out of date, let us know.
